It was a tweet. It wasn't an extract from an article in the New Statesman. Much (MUCH) worse is said on here.

The point is that ANYBODY can go on Twitter or write offensive rubbish in the paper. Here:

The Queen is a massive arsehole but her cunt smells like a skip. Wouldn't it be good if the new Royal baby drowns?

Can I have some money now please?

That's freedom of speech and it's repulsive. It'd be nice if people didn't adopt such vile posturing to gain attention, and it just goes to show that the human race can be pretty vile. Time to end this disastrous democratic experiment!

If Katie Hopkins dies in agony with a broomstick jammed into her arsehole, I don't think I'll shed too many tears.

Anyone who cares what some soppy girl who has opinions for money thinks needs to have a good look at themselves quite frankly.

She has a right to say whatever she wants within the Law, equally I have an absolute right to ignore her, which i exercise freely.

Nurse Ratched 10.23

Nurse you deserve a reply for giving it such a go.

I am neither righteous or pious but 100% a prat.
Me and Pauline Cafferkey (Ebola Nurse) could not be more different in character i am a pretty selfish coward, she is a selfless hard working Nurse who agreed to go to a deadly disease ridden country (on behalf of GB) in order to help those who are effected and to try to stop the disease from infecting us Brits too.
Ms Cafferkey as someone who has Ebola deserves a free pass, have a go at your government and health authorities if you wish but leave those who do the hard work alone, especially the extremely rare ones who have a very deadly disease and may be close to death ( I am talking more to Hopkins than you Nurse) .I cannot accept that her comment was directed at the Scots because of the referendum, what has the referendum got to do with a Scottish Nurse being transfered to london what about all those Scottish people who voted No are they suddenly Cunts too?, it makes no sense.
As someone who is slightly Obese and has an obese family too, probably the only thing i do not disagree with Hopkins on is Obesity because it is very simple, if you eat less you will be healthier but we fatty's do not seem to want to listen and are obviously putting the NHS under pressure, although i will argue that ones Genetics and upbringing do have an effect on how many of us chubs cope with this issue, i will not even go into the cheap fast food industry and constant advertising of terrible foods sweets and drinks.
Fat people do bring it upon themselves on the whole so she can wave her obesity hating stick because she does have some honest true points even if her pompous weasel of a face is delivering them.
I have no doubt that you wish for Ms Cafferkey to make a full recovery Ratched.
Lastly i do not think that disliking immensely how some obviously nasty sick money chasing media whore like Hopkins publicly laughs and arrogantly taunts at others grave misfortunes makes me a martyr for sickly sweetly good.
I am simply thinking of a poor nurse who thinking of most nurses is a decent hard working humane person who works for a average wage, her poor family who must be in bits at the thought of what may happen, and the fact that she is in danger of death if that makes me superior to you and many others on here then i cannot help that.

Why do these horrible diseases keep coning from Africa?

We have had AIDS, that flesh eating thing and now Ebola.

I have read its because some of the less educated natives keep screwing chimps and gorillas?

The nurse probably didn't help herself by taking off her protective suit to give someone a hug in church over in SL......

I agree though on the commercial flights though. That is utter madness

Make her right on certain things & wrong on others.

In fairness to her she can take stick as well as give it out & there are many out there that can't & she doesn't go to the police the instant she gets a threat & called a nasty name.

You join in the social media bug then you're going to cop a fair amount whoever you are.

Free speech, saying anything you want, for me there has to be limits most of which are covered against by existing laws.

On this particular issue, I don't make her right & for sure it's offensive remarks to some/many, but against the law in what she said - then no.

On the wider issue of Ebola & dealing with it, as much as part of me says fuck it - let someone else deal with it this time, I totally see the logic in trying to control it in Africa now. Best now rather than it get out of control & spread from there & which in the long run it would & be far worse for us in this country.

Actually, that goes with a whole host of issues & where we see ourselves & act as a country be that with conflicts & or medical & economic crisis around the world. Dig in & bury your head in the sand as many countries do, or get involved ?

Whilst personally agreeing on this occasion that we should help & thus help ourselves in the long term, I can't see the logic of frontline heath workers returning on normal commercial flights. That seems utter madness to me & if I knew I was sitting next to a health worker on one of those flights I simply wouldn't travel on it. They can & should be returned on mass in separate flights & have the sense to minimise their contact with the public for a couple of weeks.

Re: Katie Hopkins Free speech or a sign of our times.
Well the way this was spreading a few months ago then no. There is also the point of speed. The longer it takes to get under control the More difficult the task becomes.

You did actually see what was happening there right? You've seen the conditions in some of the "hospitals" right? You saw the number of medical staff and hospital workers getting infected before they had the right equipment and training?

Things have gone global now. A trend we started and got rich on. We couldn't any more stop this reaching our shores if we stopped it than we could have avoided the Black Death or the flu pandemic.

By tackling it in Africa you may have to deal with a worker coming back infected, but at least well monitored. If you stick your head in the sand you'll be deal with people coming to the UK in an uncontrolled way.

yes give them the gear to sort it, then let them get on with it.
We are not the NHS for the rest of the world.

So our solution to "keeping it in Africa" and reducing our own risk is to allow it to tear the arse out the continent with millions infected then what, shut the borders as we do so effectively to illegal immigrants right now?
